Mauritius Winter Escape

Mauritius is well known as a world-class wave destination, but the lesser known Point D'Esny, offers epic flat water and perfect foiling in a safe and beautiful lagoon

From Perth to Mauritius

At Action Sports WA we love the thought of the endless summer, and while Foilboards, Foil kites and other light wind gear can extend the season for Perth kiteboarders, it does get the point, sometimes usually in June, when even the most optimistic kiter starts to look to warmer and windier climes.

Action Sports WA feels the cold as much as anyone and the best way to cancel the winter doldrums and cold is the form of mid-winter escape. While some of our Asian neighbors can provide a break from the rain, they usually do not come with wind attached!

With direct 8 hour flight from Perth, Mauritius is the perfect antidote to those winter blues. Firstly Mauritius is windy, secondly, it has so much variety that whatever your level or preference for conditions this island in the Indian Ocean will tick all your boxes.

Point D'Esny enjoys unobstructed trade winds straight off the ocean so it blows 24hrs a day making morning and/or afternoon sessions your choice.  Arguably the most beautiful location in Mauritius, the sandy beaches and crystal clear waters certainly add to the feeling of being away in paradise.  The waters of Pointe D'Esny are protected by the outer reef, so the water is always quite flat, and very smooth right behind the outer reef, making for incredible twin tip speed runs.  This idylic spot is best suited to foilboarding and twin tip riding.  Unlike LeMorne, there are no crowds, in fact, very few people kite here outside of the local school and the odd visitor.  It is also the destination of the Mauritius Kite Foil Pro Tour event in August.  With affordable self contained accomodation right on the beach and world class kiting conditions, what are you waiting for?

Very limited numbers so that we don't crowd out the spot.  Call us now and book your spot.

If you are interested in our winter tour, we are now taking bookings for 2020 with departure date 5th July 2020 to 18th July 2020. We expect the tour to book up quickly, so if you are interested, don't leave it too long!
